City Car Sounds – Major Update: v1.2.0

The City Car Sounds asset has received a major update. Version 1.2.0 introduces several new features, improved sound quality, and a better workflow for both Unity and Unreal Engine users.

 

City Car Sounds is a game-ready engine sound pack designed for regular city cars, featuring seamlessly looping audio clips recorded and prepared specifically for use in games. It can be used directly in Unity projects and also integrates with Realistic Engine Sounds 2 for dynamic engine sound systems.

 

This update focuses mainly on improving sound quality, stability of RPM loops, and expanding the included FMOD project.

What's New in Version 1.2.0

New Features

 

  • Added a Sound Clip Tester Scene to quickly test and preview the included audio clips.

  • Added the Skril Studio Common Assets folder for commonly used assets shared across multiple Skril Studio packages.

  • Expanded the FMOD project with additional sound effects, including:

    • tyre screech SFX

    • turbo SFX

    • gearbox SFX

    • gear change SFX

  • The Unity version now also includes the FMOD project files, packed inside a .unitypackage file.

 

Sound Improvements

 

Several parts of the sound library were remade and improved:

  • All engine off-load sound clips were remade.

  • All interior sound clips were remade.

  • Improved the looping of multiple audio clips, resulting in more stable and consistent RPM sound transitions.

  • All Realistic Engine Sounds 2 engine sound prefabs were remade.

 

Documentation Update

 

The included Documentation.pdf has been updated to provide clearer instructions for:

  • Unity integration

  • Using the included FMOD project

  • Understanding the parameters
