Game developers looking to add more convincing vehicle audio to their projects have a new sound library to work with. Skril Studio’s Wheel & Debris Sounds has officially launched across the Unity Asset Store, Fab, and GameDev Market, bringing a collection of recorded wheel, debris, braking, and tire sounds designed specifically for interactive projects.
The new sound pack focuses on an often-overlooked part of vehicle audio: the interaction between wheels and the road surface. While engine sounds tend to get most of the attention in racing and driving games, tire and surface sounds play an equally important role in making vehicles feel connected to the environment.
150 WAV Files Cover Cars, Bicycles, and E-Bikes
Wheel & Debris Sounds contains 150 WAV files, covering three different types of vehicles: cars, bicycles, and e-bikes. The library is divided into 61 car wheel debris recordings, 42 bicycle recordings, 43 e-bike recordings, and four tire screech effects.
The recordings cover different rolling speeds and road surfaces, including asphalt and gravel, while also including braking, vehicle launches, and tire screeches. Multiple variations are provided for many sounds, giving developers more material to work with when creating dynamic vehicle audio systems.
This makes the library particularly suited to racing games, driving simulators, off-road titles, vehicle-focused games, and other projects where convincing wheel-to-surface interaction is important.
Designed for Game Audio Workflows
Rather than being limited to a single engine, the package includes formats for both Unity and Unreal Engine, making it usable across different development pipelines.
The sounds can be used individually or combined with a vehicle audio system to create more sophisticated surface-dependent effects. For example, developers can layer rolling sounds with debris impacts, braking effects, and tire screeches to produce a more varied result depending on speed, surface, and driving behavior.
Another Audio-Focused Release From Skril Studio
Wheel & Debris Sounds continues Skril Studio’s focus on vehicle and game audio. The studio is known for creating audio tools and sound libraries aimed at game developers, including its Realistic Engine Sounds series.
With wheel and road interaction often receiving less attention than engines and exhaust systems, this new pack targets a useful gap in the vehicle audio workflow.
Wheel & Debris Sounds is now available on the Unity Asset Store, Fab, and GameDev Market, giving developers another option for building more detailed and believable vehicle soundscapes.
